Uncorrected personality traits that seem whimsical in a child may prove to be ugly in a fully grown adult. I read the same passage 3 times yesterday. It was in a book about something that was supposedly extremely relevant to what I was experiencing at that very moment. I read it 3 times but I didn’t understand one word. I kept thinking about what I was experiencing and I couldn’t read words. I couldn’t.

Marina Abramovic and Ulay started an intense love story in the 70s, performing art out of the van they lived in. In 1988, They decided to make a spiritual journey which would end their relationship. Each of them walked the Great Wall of China, starting from the two opposite ends and meeting in the middle. Ulay started from the Gobi Desert and Abramovic from the Yellow Sea. After each of them walked 2500 km, they met in the middle and said “good-bye”. Never seeing each other again. At her 2010 MoMa retrospective Marina performed ‘The Artist Is Present’ as part of the show, a minute of silence with each stranger who sat in front of her.
